Th e look works thanks to the carefully selected combination of
woods, fi nishes and materials. Fresh and brightly coloured natural linen
and cotton fabrics were sourced from Designers Guild, Jim Th ompson,
Nobilis and Pierre Frey, with the addition of Loro Piana fabrics in the
master suite.
“We paid a lot of attention to the selection of diff erent woods for the
interior,” Sessa says. “Th e main (black) wood for detailing is louro faia,
selected based on the size of the grain, then bleached, stained black and
lacquered to a high gloss fi nish. We combined this with woods like anigré
and lime tree, both also bleached and lacquered.”
“Th e interior work,” she adds, “was beautifully fi nished by Metrica,
whose attention to the fi ne details is exceptional. All these elements
combine to create an avant-garde and comfortable ambiance.”
Th at this exquisite yacht still holds the envious gaze of onlookers two
years aft er her launch is testament to the timeless yet contemporary look
that both Heywood and Sessa have managed to create – expertly realised
by the Amels yard. It all comes down to process.
“Working closely with Tim Heywood helped create the dream vessel
the owner was looking for,” says Stewart. “We strictly followed his
instructions and we collaborated closely with Amels to build and launch
an iconic vessel.”
Currently listed for sale exclusively through Imperial Yachts and
available to view in Monaco, Event – like any good dream – continues to
enthral. If the Limited Editions range marked a baseline shift , then Event
must surely be its benchmark.
