SILVER FAST
LOA: 77 m
Builder: SilverYachts, Australia
Designer: Espen Øino
Interiors: Vain
Launched: 2015
Th e undoubted star of last year’s Monaco Yacht Show, Silver Fast
enhanced the economic credentials of German-owned SilverYacht’s
growing fl eet of “world’s largest and fastest aluminium motor yachts” by
voyaging 11,000 nm from Perth to Monaco, with a stopover in the Gulf,
at an average 17 knots, while consuming only 400 litres of fuel per hour.
An extraordinary performance, although one which sister ship
Smeralda has already heralded, as have her slightly smaller cousins, the
73 m Rabdan and 73 m Dragonfl y.
Designed by the ultra-talented Espen Øino, Silver Fast is described
by agents Burgess Yachts as “the fourth and most advanced yacht in
the acclaimed SilverYachts series. Silver Fast raises standards to a new,
incredible impressive level.
“Capable of speeds in excess of 27 knots, and with a long-range
cruising capability of 20-22 knots, her shallow draft of just 2.6 m is ideally
suited to cruising in areas that many yachts of this size cannot access.”

ETERNITY (EX-FAMILY
DAY)
LOA: 65 m
Builder: Codecasa, Italy
Interiors: Anna Maria and Franco Della Role
Launched 2010
Built at Codecasa’s Ugo facility in Viareggio for a Hong Kong owner
who previously had a Codecasa 41 m of the same name, Family Day
has spent a lot of time cruising in Asia-Pacifi c waters, turning up
in all the usual hotspots and some less usual places as well, such as
Kaohsiung and the Penghu archipelago in the Taiwan Straits.
She was built in tandem with Joseph Lau’s Codecasa 65 m Lady
Lau, presumably achieving naval architecture cost savings in this
way, although the two vessels feature completely diff erent profi les
and interiors.
Both have been sold in the past year, Lady Lau in Europe, while
Family Day remains at Hong Kong Gold Coast Yacht and Country
Club’s marina, and has been renamed Eternity.
Th e vessel has a striking metallic hull, and the interior has a
sophisticated modern appearance, featuring mostly rosewood with
off setting fabrics, leather and marble.

DIAMONDS ARE
FOREVER
LOA: 61 m
Builder: Benetti, Italy
Designer: Stefano Natucci
Interiors: Evan K Marshall
Launched: 2011
Recently voyaging from Singapore to Hong Kong Gold Coast
Yacht and Country Club’s marina, this vessel is one of the famous
James Bond series commissioned by American car dealer turned
boating and superyacht specialist John Staluppi. He later sells
them on to a wide variety of owners. Singapore-based David Eng’s
yacht Elysium was for example originally Quantum of Solace.
Diamonds Are Forever was the seventh Bond fi lm, and
the last starring Sean Connery. It was released in 1971, so
one wonders if Staluppi, a Brooklyn boy lately well-placed in
Florida’s rich List, has had to recycle some of the names, now that
productions of the Bond franchise are not so prolifi c.
Th is vessel is a traditional steel-aluminium build. She has
accommodation for 12 guests in six suites, and carries a crew of
- Built to comply with MCA standards, her maximum speed is
16 knots, but optimum cruising speed is of course a little less.
