SANCTUARY COVE INTERNATIONAL Boat Show (SCIBS) in
Australia (May 19-22) wrapped up with millions of dollars in sales, an
increase in visitor volume (41,621) in the 28th edition and exhibitors
referring to it as the best show in six years.
It showcased more than A$150 million of the latest boats including
power and sailboats, superyachts, catamarans from more than 300
exhibitors, with thousands of marine products, innovation, technology,
clothing and accessories.
Horizon Motor Yachts Australia made the first sale of show, with the
sale of its A$2.8 million PC52 on May 19. Palm Beach Motor Yachts saw

strong interest in the Palm Beach 55.
Sundance Marine also received interest in the new Monte Carlo
MC70, while Leigh Smith Yachts sold two boats and was confident of
additional sales of the new Alaska 43 and 49. Integrity Motor Yachts
reports it sold five boats over the four days.
Sirocco Marine North sold 14 boats across the range, with another 20
solid leads. Multihull Solutions sold the Helia 44 Evolution Fountaine
Pajot on the first day of the show and by close of business Sunday, sold a
Lucia 40.

KOREA INTERNATIONAL BOAT SHOW

THE 9TH EDITION OF the Korea International Boat Show (KIBS)
held May 19-22 in Seoul saw growth in the number of visitors, reaching
40,694 this year.
Organised by the Gyeonggi Provincial Government, KINTEX and
the Korean Trade Organisation (KOTRA), the show highlighted the
growth in the marine and boating industry in Korea and aimed promote
boating as an active lifestyle. It featured an on-water section at Gimpo
Ara Marina, situated at the junction of the Han River and the Ara canal,
linking the Seoul River to Incheon port.

Exhibitors were positive about the event. “The show is larger than
the last one and we have seen good prospects coming to buy mid-sized
boats,” says CKIPM Marine Group CEO Kenny Kang. “The show is better
than the previous edition for being more realistic and I heard positive
comments from other companies in the leisure boating business here.”
It is also reported that rigid hull inflatable boats (RIBs) are gaining
market share in Korea, with local firm Bay Industrial having a strong
presence with its Lodestar brand.
