(^42) ⠿ MARINE MAINTENANCE TECHNOLOGY INTERNATIONAL | APRIL 2016
Integrated maritime
management solution
SRO Solutions // Stand: M7010
SRO Solutions will showcase SRO Maximo for Maritime
(SMM), an integrated solution combining an IBM asset
management system, Maximo, and SRO’s data replication
technology, SDR.
The company will also demonstrate how SDU, its latest
marine software upgrade toolkit, can help legacy systems
users transition to a new SMM asset-management system.
SRO says its SDR replication technology, optimized for
low-bandwidth, high-latency environments, is now fully
integrated with Maximo, ensuring all users both on board
and ashore have continuous access to their data in every
location, regardless of geography or connectivity.
SDR uses SRO’s tried-and-tested data upgrade and
migration tool to allow fleet owners and operators to
adopt the system.
Onboard cat
fines detection
Martechnic // Stand: M1005
Martechnic will showcase MT Cat Fines Check,
its new test kit designed for regular on-site
monitoring of the condition of bunker fuels.
The test kit searches heavy fuel oil (HFO) for
the presence of cat fines – extremely abrasive
particles that can have an adverse impact on
two-stroke engine systems.
International specifications set for the
maximum acceptable level of cat fines in bunker
fuels mean HFO must undergo a purification
process prior to entering the engine system, to
further reduce these particles.
Martechnic says its test kit offers can quickly
assess cat fines concentrations in the bunker
fuel, both before and after this onboard fuel
treatment process. The test kit estimates the
initial quality of HFO delivered on board a vessel,
as well as the effectiveness of the onboard
purification system.
The simple test procedure is based on the
dilution and centrifugation of HFO samples, and
provides a visual cat fines indication, giving the
user information on whether it is at an acceptable
level for the engine system.
Help at hand
Heinen & Hopman // Stand: M6050
Whether you are having
difficulty with your chilled
water systems, your air-
conditioning is not working
properly, or you simply have
a question about some
aspect of your HVAC
systems, Heinen & Hopman
(H&H) has a 24/7 global
service network at your
disposal. Since its engineers
have advanced expertise in
all aspects of HVAC systems,
from installation to service,
they are aware of the
different problems that can
be encountered on board.
Units undergoing
maintenance and service
most often include systems
such as chillers and chilled
water; fresh air/air-
conditioning; direct
expansion systems; ducts
and ventilators; engine room
ventilation schemes;
refrigerators and freezers.
H&H can answer all your
questions or provide
specialized and specific
advice about HVAC systems.
H&H has fully equipped,
specialized engineers who
can offer last-minute, on-site
service and maintenance
and spare parts for all HVAC
systems onboard all vessels
and offshore platforms. It
can also provide any spare
parts you may need to
optimize your HVAC and
refrigeration installations.
An annual check-up means
that owners are spared
unnecessary repairs and,
even more importantly,
sudden failures of these
important HVAC installations.
