Clever overhaul and repair services
Clever Marine Services (CMS) // Stand: M3035
Clever Marine Services (CMS) is
based on the Isle of Man and, since
2009, has been providing its clients
with fast and professional solutions,
with reasonable and predictable
pricing, for any marine-related
maintenance or repair task.
CMS is an ISO 9001-accredited
marine and offshore service provider
offering overhaul, maintenance and
repair of any make of diesel engine,
sourcing and sale of technical spare
parts, class-approved non-
destructive testing (NDT) and
ultrasonic thickness measurement
(UTM), survey and consultancy, as
well as sourcing of marine and
offshore professionals and full ship
management.
CMS offers overhaul and repair
services, as well as the sale of diesel
engine spare parts, for any make of
diesel engine. It holds its own engine
documentation library for MaK,
Deutz, Yanmar, Wärtsilä, Caterpillar,
and Hyundai HiMSEN, as well as for
MAN and its Korean and Russian
licensees. CMS’s NDT/UTM services
are class-approved by DNV-GL, ABS,
BV, RINA and LR, and it offers
magnetic particle inspection, liquid
penetrant inspection, and ultrasonic
NDT methods and UTM up to
corrosion management.
The company’s senior project
management team consists of three
marine/offshore professionals who all
have more than 23 years of
experience in the marine and offshore
industry and each team member is at
least double qualified [this means
they are both engine and deck
licensees] and multiple skilled.
CMS is the global sales
representative for the HAINCA
ultrasonic antifouling solution, and
the UK sales representative for IBS
Scherer’s parts cleaning devices and
solvents. These innovative products
can help to achieve a reduction in
costs and a greener footprint.
New ways to protect against
wear at sea
MetaLine // Stand: M7030
For many years, MetaLine has
adopted an unusual approach to
surface protection. Elastomers,
rubber-like coatings, are seamlessly
sprayed, completely unstressed and
extremely low density. It’s all about
absorbing and no longer deflecting
destructive force effects of the
flowing media.
Since it was launched on the
market in 2004, the concept has
successfully established itself and
is continuously being put to new
uses – both offshore and onshore.
With an approximate specific weight
of only 1.05g/cm³, the leading
product MetaLine 785 achieves
about 25% greater erosion
resistance than 316L (saltwater-
resistant stainless steel), which has
a density of almost 8g/cm³.
Under almost all climatic
conditions, such as heat and
extreme humidity, it can be applied
on-site – without vulcanization. The
treatment is applied without any
solvents, using an innovative
cartridge spray process – in a
similar way to paint. It is dry to the
touch within five minutes.
When it comes to maximum
surface efficiency, extremely smooth

surfaces are the order of the day –
with rubber-like properties. This
long development project has
resulted in approximately 30 times
greater erosion resistance than the
commonly used ceramic coating
treatments supplied by British and
American companies.
Its main uses include repairs and
first coats applied to seawater pipes,
pumps, filters, propulsion systems
and rudder blades.
Sandblasting, together with
chloride neutralization, is vital for
a successful lasting application.
