Black Dyneema

DSM DYNEEMA HAS introduced

Black Dyneema, a product

designed to extend the use of

the fi bre in existing applications,

and to take it into totally new

markets. New applications include

those where the fi bre needs to be

invisible or nearly invisible. In areas

such as fi shing lines, for example,

where Dyneema is already widely

used, Black Dyneema offers a

suitable solution.

to handle up to 1,200 kilos. In

addition, the UK manufacturer has

also expanded its range of high

load thimbles. The new Hercules

Rings are an alternative to blocks

where static load is applied.

Garmin GPS 73 Marine Handheld

GARMIN GPS 73 is a new low-cost marine handheld

designed to provide a simple, rugged and reliable

navigation solution. The unit comes with the SailAssist

feature enabled and a high-sensitivity receiver. It marks

and stores up to 1,000 waypoints and 100 tracks.

Communication with other devices via USB interface,

as well as NMEA 0183. The GPS 73 also connects to a

computer for access to the free Garmin HomePort trip

planning software.
