CRAFTSMANSHIP


Brooklin is also mid-way through a 49ft (14.9m) cruiser/racer
designed by Jim Taylor of Marblehead, MA. A variation of
Taylor’s successful design Dreadnought, launched by Brooklin
in 2014, the new boat, built for a New England yachtsman
and keen racer, carries the same underwater profi le but the
cockpit, aft end of the cabin trunk and interior arrangement
aft of the mast has all been moved forward 25 inches. Other
diff erences include a dedicated liferaft locker and changes to
deck hardware. With a mainsail of 650sq ft (60m^2 ) and
foretriangle of 413sq ft (38m^2 ), she boasts a total sail area of
almost 1,000sq ft (93m^2 ).
