TRIPPY
ADVISOR
Internationally renowned
designer and frequent
flier Marc Newson has
collaborated with Louis
Vuitton on a collection
of spacious lightweight
suitcases in bright
colors. The four-wheeled
luggage comes with
handles that retract on
the outside. “We took
the structure and moved
it to the outside, freeing
up internal space,” said
Newson. It took 18
months of development
and “incredibly rigorous
engineering”, which
resulted in an increased
internal volume of 15 per
cent. “I’m obsessive
about packing
everything into a bag
of a certain size, so I
wanted to design the
perfect luggage for a
person who won’t travel
with anything more than
is absolutely necessary.”
With three patents,
including the specially
melded lightweight
fabric, this luggage was
designed with the 21st
century traveler in mind.
