modest upswing in sales

of previously owned sailing

yachts in recent years, driven

by prices coming down

drastically. As the supply of

high quality, well designed

large sailing yachts available

on the market wanes, it

would follow that brokerage

prices should strengthen

and owners should be able

to get better value on the

brokerage market. This in

turn may help convince

buyers for new projects to

sign and build large new

sailing yachts, which in

recent years have been in

very low demand.”

Pacific partnership

Boat International will be partnering with

the 2018 New Zealand Millennium Cup,

in the Bay of Islands from 23 to 26

January. Now in its 10th year, the regatta

has big plans for 2018, including the Boat

International Race Day on Day Two.

Applications are now open for competing

yachts, with a strong field expected. The

reigning champion Tawera by Alloy

Yachts could make a hat-trick of victories,

while previous winners include 50m
