powered by the reliable and
efficient Yanmar shaft-
drive diesels. With just 1350
hours on the clock, this will
suit as an offshore fishing
machine as well as a family
weekender that’s cheap
to run. She has plenty of
rod holders, rod storage,
outriggers, shotgun and
small game chair. Beautiful
teak cover boards and black
velour upholstery gives a
very classy finish.”
Running Yanmar 6FPA-
STP engines pushing 315hp
each, I’d expect a top speed
in the low 30kt range and
exceptional range from the
1450-litre fuel tank. With
400 litres of water, the crew

will be happy for many
days of extended cruising.
She has four berths and the
enclosed bulkhead adds
security. She’s recently been
anti-fouled and features a
shower in the enclosed head,
microwave, fridge, sink,
twin-burner gas stove, Muir
anchor winch, three bilge
pumps, full alloy-framed
bimini top with front and
side clears , helm carpet,
high bow rails, fender
baskets, removable saloon
carpet, battery charger, trim
tabs, GME stereo, 1800W
inverter, Ritchie compass,
VHF, Koden echo sounder,
Navman Tracker 5608GPS,
Navman autopilot, Reelax

outriggers, fish boxes, rod
holders, rod storage, live
bait in transom, rocket
launchers, bait prep area,
teak trim and rear door to
marlin board.

HOW MUCH?
I consider $230,000
reasonable for such a well-
fitted and well-presented
example of an iconic
gamefisher and cruiser,
especially with the premium
Yanmar shaft drives. I
wouldn’t expect a dramatic
change in the resale value
unless you put a million
hours on the engines and a
heap more tag and capture
flags on the outriggers. But

then you’ll have had your
money’s worth in fun!

ABOVE Up high and protected, perfect for those long runs out to the shelf, while the all-around visibility makes it equally useful for
manoeuvring in tight marina berths
ABOVE RIGHT, TOP-BOTTOM Plenty of space to relax below, whether for a nanna-nap after a big battle or at anchor in a quiet cove over
night; And a room with a view for brekky; Can you have too many rocket launchers? Probably not
