Laurentia is the name of the ancient geological core
of North America, so it’s no surprise then that the
new Heesen yacht of that name has close ties to
the continent, including interior designer Radyca.
The firm, which has experience in residential,
commercial and yacht interior design, is located on
stylish Brickell Avenue in Miami.
The 180ft steel and aluminum yacht was built on
spec as Project Alida. Sold nearly complete in
March to her current owner, she was delivered six
months later. “It was an intense challenge to work
from the original design concept created by
Bannenberg & Rowell and modify it in such a short
period of time to suit the new owners’ needs and
taste,” says Radyca’s president, Ramon Alonso. “We
are very pleased with the results.”
With styling by Omega Architects and a fast
displacement hull by Van Oossanen, the 740GT
Laurentia reaches a top speed of 16.6 knots.
