I
n its 29th iteration, the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show really
shone, and 2017 will go down as one of, if not the best show since the
halcyon days pre-GFC. Not only did the clear, sunny skies draw a record
crowd but the people were looking to invest in the marine lifestyle. News
broke early in the show that Horizon Motor Yachts had taken an order for
its first RP115, a 122ft raised pilothouse that is the largest vessel sold by Horizon
into Australia to date. SCIBS stalwart and one of the best-displayed brands,
Maritimo reported its best show since the GFC. Sydney-based Multihull Central
more than covered its show costs, $4million in sales marking its best show.
What 2018 will provide is yet unknown but with a celebration planned for the
30th anniversary, plus the expectation of more from exhibitors, we can’t wait.
