3 Methods
●● Turn on the power of scanner and then switch on computer
monitor.
●● When the status screen indicates “scanner ready,” the scanner
is ready for use.
●● Login to system with password.
●● Open the scanner door; take out the autoloader slide rack.
●● Load the slides to autoloader slide racks. Make sure the slides
are in the right position (i.e., glass coverslip face up and slide
label up to the front). After loading the slides to the rack, put
back the slide rack in scanner and close the scanner door.
●● Avoid slides with excessive labeling as it may cause jamming in
the slide rack.
●● The program will show up the images of the slide rack.
●● Select the racks with the slides inside for scanning (Fig. 2 ).
●● Make snapshots for these slides using autofocusing—this will
select the areas with the tissue.
●● Review the snapshots captured (Fig. 3 ).
●● Design the setting: select the designed scan magnification (5×,
10×, 20×, or 40×).
●● Data entry step: specify and save a name for each slide in the
name field.
●● Select the slide type and setting (see Note 3).
