●● Adjust the preselected areas in each slide to be scanned (see
Note 4) (Fig. 4 ).
●● Make sure the areas to be scanned have the calibration point.
The calibration point should be on a clear area.
●● Normally, there are some focus points already shown. The
operation needs to add some more focus points to achieve bet-
ter results in focusing the fine details. If the focus point is not
enough, the scanned images may be extremely blurry.
●● Review the snapshot setting to avoid any missing in settings
and enable fine-tuning for successful scan (Fig. 4 ).

●● Click the scan button to progress the scanning. The time for
scanning depends on the magnification, nature of slide (stain-
ing quality and use of tissue microarray sections), and size of
the area of interest (see Note 5).
●● During the process, monitor for any error messages occurred.
Occasionally, some of the slides may need to be rescanned.

●● Check the images being scanned.
●● Copy and save the image files from computer to your portable
devices.

3.5 Completion

Fig. 4 After data entry for coding the images and setting of the scan area and focus points, the scanning could
begin. All the slides could be viewed and the status of scanning be shown up in the computer screen. The
progress of the scanning could be monitored
