elcome to the July/August 2019 issue of
Business Traveller Asia-Pacific.
It’s coming up to the summer holiday
season, and what better time to ref lect on
how the stresses of all our business travel can impact
on our mental and physical health.
For many of our readers, crossing continents at
almost the speed of sound, surviving on a smidgeon
of sleep – and likely lapping down enough liquor in
the name of networking to make your doctor cringe
- are all part and parcel of being a road warrior.
Business travel, however stressful it can feel
sometimes, certainly has its moments that make all
that globetrotting worthwhile – but it’s important
to take a step back sometimes and ref lect on what
we’re doing to our bodies and minds.
On page 48, our writer looks at the causes of
travel burnout and how to manage the stress that
can arise from long hours on the road.
If that article inspires you to look for somewhere
to unwind for your summer holiday, why not try
Berlin? In our 4 hours guide on page 38, we show you
five great places to check out in the German capital’s
vibrant Kreuzberg district. Also, on page 22, I take a
look at South Korea’s second biggest city Busan,
which has a thriving big and small business scene,
coupled with an enviable work-life balance thanks
to its beautiful beaches and favourable climate.
If you’re thinking of spending summer (well,
Australian winter) Down Under, turn to page 34 for
a look at the gorgeous Flinders Ranges, within
driving distance from Adelaide.
By the way, are you reading this in an airport
lounge? Go to page 52 for our comprehensive guide
to all the lounges you can relax in at Hong Kong
International Airport.
