Story of the Paris Meridian by Sébastien Barrau
Bedroom Art
SOM’Art has taken bespoke beds to a new level by bringing street art to the bedroom. For anyone wanting to add a unique twist to their home
the company specialising in mattresses now invites you to bring a splash of colour with mattresses and headboards that have become canvases
for well-known graffiti artists including Babou and Toxic who began leaving his mark alongside Basquiat on the walls of New York. Clients can
purchase already designed beds or could bring in their idea, which will then be interpreted by an artist, ensuring your bed is only for you.

Expert Luxury
Precision, innovation and technical
expertise come together in the works of
the luxury furniture designer Sébastien
Barrau. Based in Brittany, the designer
creates unique and bespoke pieces and
limited editions fashioned with elite materials
like Grade 5 titanium. While titanium, widely
used in aeronautics and appreciated for its
resistance and lightness, can be fashioned into
intricate, challenging designs it is a very demanding
material to machine requiring high speed turning
operations, sophisticated metal cuttings and laser
texturing, all special techniques mastered by Sébastien
Barrau. The Sébastien Barrau Manufacture creates
exceptional pieces of furniture like the intriguing Story
of the Paris Meridian desk, which tells the tale of the Paris
meridian, one of the world’s prime meridians. The desk,
which has been brought out in a limited edition of 5 pieces,
is enhanced with gold leaf, silver inserts and a one-carat
diamond. - P.V.
