The colourful thought-provoking works of Lydie arickx are on display at the Loo & Lou Gallery in an exhibition entitled Gravité (Gravity). The show
brings together a selection of her paintings and sculptures showcasing the theme of gravity, one of the four fundamental interactions of the
universe, a force that brings together bodies made of mass, structures our universe and which turns us around the celestial bodies of the cosmos.
colour and shape infuse the works with energy, motion and strength. The paintings, depicting fi gures seemingly suspended or reclining in the
space, are a feast of oils and pigments fi xed upon intriguing mediums like emery cloth and paper pasted on canvas. The works of Lydie arickx are
found in the collections of among others, the centre Pompidou, Palais de Tokyo and the Musée d’art Moderne de Paris.
