START OF THE KOREAN WAR
The Korean War was a war between Nor th
and South Korea. It was largely a battle over
communism, which the Nor th suppor ted, but
the South didn’t. The war eventually created the
Korean Demilitar ized Zone (DMZ), to politically
separate the two countries, and it still exists. In
all, the Korean War lasted about three years and
