E1: SMALL ARMS FIRE
Reigning champ Josh Green
(Activ 8 Yamaha) has put his
big-boy pants on and moved up to
E2 and will ride a WR450F. Some
people reckon that in the current
AORC format, with the faster,
more “motocrossy” type of tracks,
E1 can be a bit of a disadvantage
but heproved lastyear that the
250Fs can run up front.
This year we have a fresh set of
E1 challengers. Husqvarna has
returnedto theclasswiththe
always-solid Glenn Kearney while
Yamaha has loaded Stefan
Granquist up with a 250F and
also has signed motocross convert
Riley Graham and former Husky
rider Scott Keegan.
Current AORC Women’s champ
Ta yla Jones has stepped over to
E1 as well. As we went to print
I’m wasn't too sure if riders such
as Nic Tomlinson (KTM) and Brad
Hardaker (Yamaha)will be
campaigning in the class but they
are capable of some solid rides.
PREDICTION: 1 GK He has the
experience to get the job done.
2 SKFresh start for the Central
Coast boy and he’ll be right there.
3 STEFAN It will be really tight
between SK, Stef and Riley and I
think they will be trading places
all year.
2
Main: Stefan Granquist
is as fit as he's ever been
right now and will be
tough to beat
- Scott Keegan's late
switch to Yamaha is not
ideal preparation for the
season
2. Glenn Kearney will
once again play team
manager and lead rider
for Husky
