The injury toll in AMA Supercross
has eased with the return of a
number of riders at round six in
San Diego. Among the returnees
was Honda’s Trey Canard who
had missed two races, Geico
Honda’s Justin Bogle who had
missed four, Yoshimura Suzuki’s
Blake Baggett who had missed
four rounds, came back for one
and then missed another with a
different injury.
BTO Sports KTM’s Andrew
Short also came back at round six
after missing the start of the
series with a shoulder injury.
Let’s take a look at the riders
out right now and when they
should be back:
YOSHIMURA SUZUKI’S JAMES
STEWART: Knocked out at the
opener and a race-to-race
proposition since then with
concussion symptoms. It’s
anyone’s guess when he’ll be
back, but he was completely off
the bike for three weeks.
RED BULL KTM’S DEAN
WILSON: Suffered another ACL
tearin his knee and will be out
most of the season.
RCH SUZUKI’S BROC TICKLE:
Broke his wrist and is expected to
beout for most of the series. The
team signed Jake Weimer to fi ll in
for him.
JGR YAMAHA’S JUSTIN BARCIA:
Came into the series with a
thumb injury, aggravated it in
round one and went under the
knife after round two. Out for the
rest of the supercross season.
ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV & MC’s
KYLE CHISHOLM: Crashed hard
at round two and suffered a
shoulder injury. He’s hoping to be
back late in the series.
TLD KTM’S JESSY NELSON: The
SX2 rider crashed hard after
round one and will miss the
season with a back injury.
MAD RACING/DIRT CANDY
SUZUKI'S LUKE CLOUT: The
Aussie rider crashed at round four
in Oakland, breaking his femur.
Clout underwent surgery and will
miss the rest of the series.
