t’s delicate and elegant, and comes with a
heritage that goes back to the first wrist watch
that Abraham-Louis Breguet created in 1810
for Caroline Murat, the queen of Naples. Measuring
32.7 x 27.3mm, Reine De Naples Princesse Mini 9807
comes in steel with a self-winding movement. Its
domed dial is in shimmering white natural mother-
of-pearl, as are the hour markers – in a delicate
marquetry – portraying the expertise of the Breguet
watchmakers, who have managed to make one of the
most brittle materials dance to their tune. Another
version comes in rose gold. Don’t they say that the
best things come in small packages?
