Haas enters the fray
with its F1 machine
The Haas F1 Team have unveiled
the car with which they’ll make their
Grand Prix racing debut in 2016, the
Ferrari-powered VF-16. The new
machine, which will be handed its
official track debut when pre-season
testing gets underway at Barcelona
on Monday, is the results of more
than two years of effort by Haas,
who will become the first American
team on the grid for 30 years.

Williams unveil 2016
challenger
Williams have unveiled the FW38, the
car with which they will contest the 2016
FIA Formula One World Championship.
Having finished third in the constructors’
championship for the past two straight
seasons, the team are confident their
new machine represents a significant
step forward, but are in no doubts
about the challenge that awaits them.

Renault’s return to F1
Renault have confirmed that
Kevin Magnussen will help spearhead
their return to Formula One racing
as a full works team in 2016, as well
as revealing their new car for the
forthcoming season. Magnussen will
race alongside Jolyon Palmer at the
rebranded Renault Sport F1 Team,
with GP3 racewinner Esteban Ocon
joining as third and reserve driver.

Revealed, Mercedes’
F1 W07 Hybrid
Mercedes have released pictures of the
car with which they will defend their
drivers’ and constructors’ championship
double in 2016 - the F1 W07 Hybrid.
The new car, which Mercedes say
features a number of ‘mini revolutions’
over its predecessor, underwent a
shakedown test at the UK’s Silverstone
circuit. Development over the winter
has been all about incremental
increases in performance and reliability,
along with the power unit too.

Ferrari present the SF16-H
in red and white
Ferrari have pulled the covers off their
2016 Formula One car. The SF16-H
features a red and white colour
scheme, the first time in over two
decades that the team have used such
a livery. The SF16-H - the H referring to
Hybrid - features a shortened nose, as
well as more tapered rear packaging
relative to its SF15-T predecessor
thanks to Ferrari’s efforts to make their
latest power unit more compact.

McLaren’s MP4-31
for 2016 revealed
McLaren revealed their brand-new
Formula One challenger, the MP4-31,
ahead of the first all-team test at Spain.
The striking and innovative MP4-31
chassis integrates Honda’s new RA616H
power unit, developed exclusively
for the team. According to McLaren,
while the stability in F1 regulations has
enabled the team to strengthen and
mature many of the design concepts


developed on last year’s MP4-30, their
2016 car also incorporates a significant
number of all-new innovations.

Toro Rosso in time
for Spain testing
Carlos Sainz handed the new Toro
Rosso STR11 its track debut as F1
testing got underway at the Circuit
de Barcelona-Catalunya in Spain on
Monday. The Italian team have switched
from Renault to Ferrari power units
ahead of the new campaign; a significant
change which necessitated a change
in the new machine’s architecture and
contributed to the STR11 debuting
in a temporary dark blue livery.

Manor reveals their
race machine
Manor have taken the wraps off the car
which F1 rookies Pascal Wehrlein and
Rio Haryanto will campaign in 2016,
the MRT05. Featuring some 3,393 new
parts compared to its predecessor, as
well as a brand-new Mercedes power
unit, Manor are hopeful that the MRT05
will move them up the grid in 2016.

Force India’s race machine
revelation for 2016
Force India marked the beginning of their
2016 season on Monday morning as Nico
Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez pulled the
covers off the team’s new VJM09 car in
Barcelona. Force India say the stability
in the technical regulations means the
VJM09 is more evolution than revolution,
building on the strengths of the 2015
B-spec chassis that helped the team secure
fifth place in the championship last year.
