There exists, of course, an extensive number of
volumes about fantasy and horror literature: criti-
cal works, historical analyses, biographies, mem-
oirs, and philosophical discussions. One could
assemble a small library focused exclusively on the
life and work of J. R. R. Tolkien. Although the fol-
lowing list is far from comprehensive, it includes
many useful titles and provides a cross section of
what is available.
