I

am a working mother with a five-

month-old daughter. Need I say

that I am busy and tired all the

time? Most of my day goes in making

sure my baby gets all the attention she

demands, while trying to meet deadlines

at work. The attempt to achieve personal

and professional balance leaves no time

for me, and the only beauty ritual I care

about is making sure I cut my baby’s

nails before they grow too long!

In the middle of all this, a home

beauty service is a saviour. My knight

in shinning armour turned out to be

My Glamm, a one-stop shop for all

spa and salon treatments. I decided

to check them out and booked

multiple services from the app – I

was using a home beauty service for

the first time and, honestly, wasn’t

sure how the experience would be.

At the assigned time, Shabnam and

Poonam arrived at my house with two

bags loaded with all the equipment

they needed. They began with the

‘ME! Bath Ice Cream Manicure and

Pedicure’. The treatment is available

in several ice-cream flavours; I chose

chocolate. The treatment began with

Poonam lighting a chocolate-scented

candle and Shabnam dropping a

chocolate bath bomb into water for the

soak. This was followed by a scrub and

massage. At the end of the treatment,

my room and limbs were smelling of

chocolate. Next in line was the ‘Miracle

of SHEA – The Comforting Facial by

L’Occitane’. I was so looking forward

to the facial because the changing

weather had made my skin rough and

dull. The lights were dimmed and I

don’t know what Shabnam applied to

my face, but when I saw myself in the

mirror afterwards, the dullness had

disappeared and I looked and felt great.

The best was saved for the end –

‘Body Massage by Forest Essentials’.

As Poonam poured jasmine oil and

started rubbing my back, I realised

how much my body needed the

massage. Her strong strokes loosened

up my muscles. Time flew, and when

the session ended, I felt so relaxed.

My therapists left after pampering

me for four hours, and I slept like

a baby, next to my baby.
