Scheduled opening 2020
One of the ‘next wave’ launches, the Hong Kong
operator and Omniyat are busying working on a
two-in-one with an 167-room hotel complemented
by 271 serviced apartments (pictured). Langham is
one of a number of high-end brands making the
journey from local obscurity to city-wide recognition
with The Langham Palm Jumeirah also on the anvil- much like the path Four Seasons created, and
Mandarin Oriental will follow suit too – although we
await development updates on the resort. n
HOTELIERS MUST ‘RAISE
THEIR GAME’ AS SUPPLY
RISES IN CENTRAL DUBAI
Bill Keffer, General Manager of JW Marriott
Marquis Dubai, says: “I think we are
conscious of the new competition as we
have been following the hotel growth plans
for Dubai for the last four-to-five years,
particularly with Dubai being awarded
EXPO 2020. I believe that competition
is good and helps bring out the best in
operators; you have to raise your game to
rise above
the crowd.
The rates at
this time are
very dynamic
and market-
driven and
it’s up to
the hotel
operators
to fine
tune their
businesses
with the
new market
conditions.”HOTELS IN BUSINESS BAY26 I Business Bay
