spin-off, tentatively calledSupernatural: Bloodlines, which followed monster
families in Chicago. But without any knownSupernatural characters making
the jump,Bloodlines didn’t catch on with fans. After that, the writers took a
few years to really find the right idea. “Having done the spin-off thing once,
it’s something we’re really cautious about,” Dabb says. “Supernatural is a
very precious thing, and we never want to do anything that’s going to hurt
the show.” Ultimately, they found what they were looking for withWayward
Sisters, which will followSupernatural recurring guest stars, including Kath-
ryn Love Newton and Kim Rhodes, as part of a pack of women who form a
supernatural fighting force in Sioux Falls, S.D. “We’ve gotten tremendous
feedback from the fans about how
they love these existing characters,
so picking that to do a spin-off was
certainly not the hardest decision,”
Singer says. (For more onWayward
