breeding setup.

I have enjoyed fishkeeping for more than 50 years and have been breeding
rainbowfishes and blue-eyes for 35 years. I am often asked if the hobby is really
fun—I have so many aquariums and they require so much work. My take on it is
this: I don’t have to breed fishes to feed my family. I do it because I love it, and I
always have.
Despite my professional career, which involved lots of travel and long hours, I
maintained a breeding setup comprising 60 aquariums for 25 years. After selling my
house and moving to a condominium in Flensburg in northern Germany, I built a
new fishroom containing 10 aquariums. After five years, I decided to scale back to
just one aquarium. However, that didn’t last long—the tanks just kept proliferating.
