ACTING UP
Koog Yung fell into
performing gymnastics
by accident: "I had just
completed my mandatory
military service in Korea
and was looking for a job
when I met the boss of
[a performing company].
I've been performing for
seven years now." His job
is so vigorous that he says
there is no need to hit the
gym after work. He shares,
"We start warming up and
rehearsing three hours
before a show, and
that is considered
my fitness
regimen."

GYM(NASTICS) IS HIS LIFE: This Korean
pro gymnast is in town to perform in
Resorts World Sentosa's original ‘sport-
formance’ theatre show Flying Through
Time, which features a cast doing athletic
feats. Koog Yung plays a Casanova
character called Dandy. "He has a lot of
hilarious character flaws that will make
the audience laugh. I’ll be doing
backflips and balancing on
poles while pretending to
walk in mid-air," Koog Yung
tells us. We spotted his
electric blue hair, which
he had dyed for his role,
a mile away when we met
him at the Genting Hotel
Jurong for this shoot.
"The bleaching damaged
my hair but it's all worth
it to make my character
more dazzling," he
laughs.
IT'S NOT LUNCH TIME
Believe it or not, this 1.69m-tall, 70kg guy can count the number of times he
has eaten lunch in his adult life "on one hand". He explains, "I have trained in
competitive gymnastics since young, and got used to eating just two meals a
day to keep my weight down. I have a good breakfast with toast and milk, and
for dinner, I eat more meat for protein and veggies for vitamins."
