World of Hyatt’s eco policy has gone beyond
towel and linen usage to initiatives that help
conserve the environment, one hotel at a time.

ith the planet screaming for
environmental preservation, now more
than ever, ‘responsible luxury’ has
become the need of the hour. Hyatt
opened its doors to ‘go green’ initiatives
with the objective of becoming a chain of
sustainable luxury hotels. Their Hyatt Thrive
programme is based on three principles—use
resources thoughtfully to reduce emissions and
waste, conserve water and purchase sustainably;
build smart designs that are environment-friendly;
and innovate and inspire to drive interesting
solutions to make the supply-chain more effective.
Besides executing an award-winning
environmently-friendly policy, many of the group’s
hotels have also introduced game-changing
programmes to put a smile back on the face of
Mother Earth.
n HYATT REGENCY DELHI
The first of the group’s hotels to receive Leadership
in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Platinum
certification, Hyatt’s Delhi property generates more
than 75 per cent of its electricity from green hydro
power. As the only hotel in the city to achieve this
status, it’s also 100 per cent committed to reducing
its light pollution. Careful selection of mounting points
ensures that there’s minimal intrusion on the night
sky. A further boon, tucked out of the way, on the roof,
is the property’s reflective solar panels.
n HYATT REGENCY GREENWICH
Located in the heart of one of Connecticut’s favourite
seaside towns, Hyatt Regency Greenwich is the first
of the group’s properties to introduce a hyper-efficient
fuel cell. While solid fuel technology probably won’t
mean too much to you while you’re sipping on your
Gin Ricky at the Gazebo Bar, you’ll sleep soundly in the
