The Christmas fair in Belarus has multiple events
apart from just its Christmas market. This includes a
Christmas Tree decoration exhibition where ornaments
dating back to the 19th century are used, Christmas Jazz
nights, annual Christmas concerts, the Belarusian Music
Theatre, a New Year Ball, and much more.

KLAGENFURT | AUSTRIA
With streets embellished with glimmering starry lights
and the subtle fragrance of mulled wine and chestnuts
wafting through the air, the Christmas market at Neuer
Platz organises numerous events for its visitors. The
most popular event is Austria’s biggest ‘Krampus Run’ a
culture that dates back centuries. In folklore, Krampus is
the horned demon who punishes children that misbehave.

HELSINKI | FINLAND
The Women’s Christmas Fair, with its roots in
Finnish Feminist Movement, was first organised in
1922 to enable women to earn money on their own.
A different section in the market is set aside for
elderly women and their artistry. The fair is run by
the Women’s Cultural Association and the revenue
is used for empowerment programmes for women.
