in selected areas of Saudi Arabia- a huge step forward in realising
a more liberal and equal society. Women
who wish to watch sport will now be
able to do so at stadiums in Jeddah,
Dammam and Riyadh. This progress
comes shortly after the ban on female
drivers was lifted in 2017 (effective June
this year). Both rulings are aligned to
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s
vision for the country by 2030: a liberal
nation with a diversifi ed economy.
