my boyfriend was dropping me off at
home. Then he remembered he had
an appointment at the car dealership
where he worked and he was late, so
he turned around and drove straight
there. I had makeup smeared all over
my face and was still in my clothes from
the night before – a minidress and heels.
He told me to take off my heels so it
would look less like a walk of shame.
I put my shoes in a plastic bag and
sat in the reception area, barefoot,
waiting for him. The manager came
over and said, “Looks like you two
had a late night.” Then he said to
my BF, “Where did you pick up this
