sweetheart of Pakistan. Playing the

highly lauded leading heroine in

the recent global box office success,

Janaan, Armeena has entered

new realms of stardom, winning

over audiences worldwide. Born

and raised in Canada, but mostly

residing in Manchester, Armeena

divulges how she deals with fame:

‘Since I have spent so much time

in Pakistan shooting for films and

television dramas, I have had good

practice of being recognised whilst

being over there. When I’d come

back home to Manchester, I lived an

ordinary life here, but Mashallah,

since I now have a huge UK fan

base, I frequently get approached

on the streets, which is nice and

I’m grateful for, but it means I

won’t be able to disappear as much

as before. Now, I escape to far off

destinations, which is a great excuse

to travel. My work ethos keeps me

grounded, as I never carry any ego

on set. I don’t think of myself as a

star, I’m an ordinary person with an

extraordinary job’.

Even without an ounce of make-

up on, Armeena is effortlessly

pretty, with her soft doe-eyes,

flawless skin, picture-perfect

features and doll-like, petite frame.

Before the shoot begins, as she sits

comfortably in her casuals, morning

coffee in hand, Armeena bares her

soul, as she reflects beyond the glitz

and glamour of her world, ‘People
