Enter the Fat Dragon project,
the action comedy which will begin shooting
shortly is not a remake of Sammo Hung’s
classic of the same name, a lot of people still
seem to be calling it a remake. While Hung’s
original told of a naive young man ¿ nding
his way in the bustling city of Hong Kong
where he encounters real friendship, betrayal, the Triads, fake Bruce Lees and more, the
upcoming Yen/Wong project will merely be
using the same title, and a totally diɣ erent tale
with a man who becomes a larger than life
hero, played by a far more portly version of
Donnie Yen than we are used to seeing. The original Enter the Fat Dragon sits
alongside many classic Hong Kong movies
in the vaults of Warner Brothers, awaiting
freedom or a possible release of some kind.

concept of heroic bloodshed and helped make a
superstar of Chow Yun-fat as the heroic and iconic
Mark Gor/Brother Mark. The original ¿ lm would
spawn both an oɤ cial sequel and a prequel, as well as an
oɤ cial Korean remake and an entire sub genre of projects
inspired by the action and the ethics of the
original ¿ lm. As 2017 draws to a close not
only will we be seeing A Better Tomorrow 4, a
Jackie Chan produced remake directed by Big
