FERNANDEZ: LUCK WILL CHANGE

TESTIMONIAL TIME
Swansea were the opponents for
Chris Lawler's testimonial at Anfield in
October 1978. A crowd of over 20,000
saw the Reds win 3-2 thanks to a brace
from Graeme Souness and a winner
courtesy of Kenny Dalglish.

Who is the only player to score for
both clubs in league games between
Liverpool and Swansea City?

KILLER
QUESTION

Centre-back Federico Fernandez
believes Swansea can play their
way out of trouble.
The defender, who started
his first game since a defeat
at Burnley a month earlier,
has insisted the Swans must
produce the sort of promising
performance they delivered in
the first half at Goodison Park
over a full 90 minutes.
The Argentine, who returned
to captain the Swans, told the
club's website: “We started
well and played from the back.
We managed to get ahead but
then conceded a penalty. We
are not having any luck, which
was summed up by the second
penalty. We need to take the
positives from the first half -
we showed we can play good
football at a difficult place.
“It was good but not good
enough to win the game, and
that’s what we need to change.”

Jonjo Shelvey (he scored in both games in 2013/14 for Swansea and put through his own net the following season)Killer question:

FIRST MEETING
The sides first came head-to-head when
Liverpool defeated Swansea Town
1-0 in an FA Cup third-round tie at Anfield
in January 1936. Centre-forward Vic
Wright was the Reds' match-winner,
netting in the 17th minute.
