ood afternoon and
welcome back to Anfield
for our Boxing Day fixture
against Swansea City.
I am doing these notes before
we have even travelled to face
Arsenal, let alone actually played
the game, so in the moment
of writing them I have no clue
what the outcome will be and
therefore the subsequent mood
among our supporters after it.
With that in mind, I will write
more broadly about the recent
weeks and where we are in our
development going into the New
Year.
Even though we still have
important matches to play in
2017, including this one today, it
really feels like a year where we
as a club have moved forward.
To have performed as we did last
season in the Premier League
was so important for us to
demonstrate we have the quality
we believe we possess. It’s one
thing always telling people – in
this industry you must prove it
on the pitch.
I think last season was
unbelievably competitive in
terms of achieving a Champions
League finish and in the end we
showed we had what it takes to
be in that conversation.
WE MUST BE AT
OUR BEST TODAY
OTHERWISE WE
WILL NOT COME
CLOSE TO GETTING
WHAT WE WANT
