For the 2018 season, the Spanish Movistar
team have swapped the old dark blue and
green for a light and dark blue fade (‘Astana
blue’ if you ask the Kazakh team).
The new two-tone blue matches the
new-look Movistar kit — the team’s fi rst
signifi cant change since 2011, which follows
a company rebranding.
On the new bikes, the light blue begins at
the front end before merging into a darker
navy blue. The Canyon logos are splashes of
white on an otherwise dark rear end.
The Campagnolo Bora wheels are also a
custom colour to match the rest of the frame,
with the Bora lettering in white, while the

‘Ultra’ transfer is in the same light blue colour
as the front end.
The Campagnolo Super Record EPS
drivetrain is a perfect match for the Bora
Ultra wheels, which in turn are shod with
Continental’s Competition Pro LTD tyres.
A white Fizik saddle is a nice fi nishing touch,
matching perfectly with the lettering on the
frame, while the light blue Lizard Skins bar
tape doesn’t look out of place either.
All the bikes pictured have rim brakes;
Campagnolo’s new Super Record disc brakes
are noticeable by their absence. However, it
remains to be seen what the Movistar riders
will actually race on this year.
