ood evening and welcome
to Anfield for our FA Cup
third-round match against
our neighbours Everton. To
begin these notes I would like to
address a significant arrival and
also a departure.
I have no idea at the time of
writing these notes whether or
not I will include Virgil van Dijk
this evening, but regardless it
is fantastic to have him in our
ranks and I’m sure everyone
connected with our football
club wishes him a warm and
enthusiastic hello.
Virgil is here to be part of our
present but also our future.
I have spoken repeatedly and
at length about the qualities he
brings, so there is no need to
repeat that here. I would say he
is joining an excellent group of
players, both in terms of talent
and character. That is important
for him and us, because we will
both get the rewards of this.
In terms of the farewell, we
have said goodbye and good
luck to Pepjin Lijnders this week,
