Back to the job in hand: ‘what was the result of the
weight comparison between the yokes?’, I hear you cry.
Pretty minimal, at only 106g between the complete
assemblies – the billet items being slightly lighter. But
don’t they look pretty?
Before anything else happens, it needs tyres. Usually
I’d leave an old tyre on for the dyno, as they’re not always
the kindest things on a set of soft tyres, but the rear
Supercorsa SP on it was
so bad I don’t think it
would have lasted the
amount of runs it’ll
probably take to get it
dialled in for the new
airbox. It’s completely
spent, much like my bank
balance...
The Super Duke puts

quickly.Areplacementwithperformancebenefits,buta
bit more longevity than the track-focused Supercorsas, is
what I need. After some research I decided to stick with
Pirelli, but the Diablo Rosso III fitment instead. I’m
hoping these will provide me good road performance,
the odd track day and last me at least 3000 miles. Chris
has tried a set and reckons they’ll fulfil the first two
criteria: it’s down to the KTM’s torque curve whether it
meets my mileage target.
With the handling sorted (and another pay packet due
to clear those angry red numbers from my statement),
I’m running out of excuses for it staying in the garage, so
I’ll pull my finger out and hand it over to Dynojet for the
breathing and fuelling tweaks soon.
