The Reine de Naples “Day/Night”
8998 surpasses all others with its
ingenious dual dials
F
or years, Breguet has created timepieces that are
mesmerising, both in their beauty and ingenuity.
So, when the master craftsmen wanted to bring day
and night to life on their dials, they whipped up a patented
movement and gave birth to Reine de Naples “Day/Night”
- The timepiece depicts the dance of the sun and the
moon on its upper dial, which features a sky of lapis lazuli
encrusted with white mother-of-pearl clouds, gold stars
and an engraved titanium moon. The sun is symbolised by
the facetted rim of the balance wheel that throws out rays
of light. The primary dial is in silvered 18-carat gold with
flame and barleycorn patterns. Framing the dials are 143
dazzling diamonds set on the flange and the bezel, and the
crown is topped with a briolette diamond. The extraordinary
timepiece comes in two variants – one in 18-carat white gold
and the other in 18-carat rose gold.
