Garcia stamps class in Singapore to start the season

asters champion Sergio Garcia

sealed an emphatic victory at

the Singapore Open and said

he was "extremely happy" with a rousing

start to his 2018 campaign. The Spaniard

carded a three-under-par 68 for a

commanding five-shot win as the weather

cleared after two days of rain-disrupted

play in his first tournament of the year.

Garcia, began the day with a birdie

on the first hole and added two more in

quick succession before the turn on holes

seven and eight. It was cruise control for

the rest of the round as he carded nine

straight pars to seal his win with a total

14-under-par 270 at the Sentosa Golf

Club's Serapong course.
