fromtheWelshGovernment,which

Incidentally,IwasworkingforBTwhen
Buzbywasaround.Mybosshadtodress
upasBuzbyforsomereason–marketing
probably–andshehatedit andhim!

IgotfedupwithsubsidisingBT’s foray
intosportTVanddumpedthemafew
yearsago.Thefinalstrawwasbeing
charged‘extra’forpaperbillsandnot
signinguptoaDirectDebit.
Ihavefourcordlessphonesdotted
aroundthehouseandwouldhave
missedthem,butIfoundagadgetcalled
a‘cellulargateway’fromXLinkintheUS
(youcannowgetthemintheUK,too).
Plugthebasestationofyourcordless
phonenetworkintothegatewayandyou
canconnectuptothreeofyourmobile
phonesviaBluetooth.Meanwhile,you
canstill usethecordlessphonestomake
andreceivecallsasusual.TheBluetooth
connectionis automatic,andthereare
noextradiversioncharges.It allworked
‘outofthebox’,butcanalsobe
configuredviaaPC.
This allbecamepossiblewhenthecar
showroomnextdoorwasreplacedwith
houses.Thehugewoodframesthatwent
up,whichwerelinedwithaluminiumfoil,
meantmymobilesignal
wentfromzerotothree
barsindoors.Yes!

line,whichis usefulbecauseyou
canuseyourlandlinetocall
