important to follow rules and guidelines
to ensure a healthy habitat. Sanctuary
Nature Foundation has teamed up with
nature stewardship alliance charity
TOFTigers to make sure your wilderness
visits are helping to protect wildlife and
support local communities.

Ask your parents to look for the nature-
friendly PUG mark when you’re planning
your next visit and deciding where to stay.
All the lodges, resorts and hotels, which
use this symbol are taking positive steps in
areas such as reducing water and energy
use, recycling, wildlife-friendly operations
and support for local communities.

tips for park visits...

• Wear muted tones – green, olive,
  brown and khaki-coloured clothes
  are best.


• Keep it clean. Never leave litter.
  Animals should not be chewing on
  plastic bottles!


• Stay silent. The jungle is very exciting,
  but your visit will yield so much more
  if you keep the volume down as wild
  animals do not appreciate noise.


• Startling a wild animal while you take a
  photograph must be avoided. Make sure
  your camera flash is turned off before
  you enter the park.


• Respect the park’s wild inhabitants.
  Don’t ask your driver and guide to
  crowd near animals or take you off the
  tourist routes, which are planned to
  cause the least disturbance to wildlife.


• Never get out of your safari vehicle.
  Not even if you drop your hat or want
  a perfect selfie. One act of foolish
  daredevilry could cost you dearly. No
  matter how passive a wild animal looks,
  its space must be respected.
