Working in sculpture and installation, and also in other
arts, Kusama is best known for herixation on circular
forms. In2014,White No. 2 8 , from her signatureIninity
Netsseries, auctioned at a record-breaking US$7.1 million
at Christie’s. Her works are displayed in several museums,
such as the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

Jimmy Choo (b.19 4 8)
Fashion designer
Choo designed high-end women’s footwear that were
much sought-ater by celebrities, including Princess Diana
and Julia Roberts. His collaboration with a Vo g u e editor
turned Choo into a global brand. Today Choo is focused on
crating a small number of high-quality shoes and training
his protégés in making high-end footwear.

Art collectors
he Shanghai tycoon and his wife are proliic, high-proile
collectors of antiques and contemporary art. Some of the
artwork they purchased, such as Modigliani’s Nu Couché,
which closed at US$170 million, represent some of the
highest priced pieces on record. Wang runs her own
museums in China to house their collection. In 2012, they
were listed in the authoritative “he 2012 ARTNews 200
Top Collectors”, a irst for Chinese collectors.

Lin Tianmiao (b. 1 961)
Installation artist
One of the irst female artists in China to gain global
recognition, Lin is known for winding thread around
objects to create installation art, and for exploring the
relationship between the traditional and modern. She is
most interested in her experience growing up in China as
well as being a woman. Since the mid 1990s, Lin’s works
have been included in every major international museum
show on Chinese contemporary art.
