r. Piramal’s dedicated efforts, perseverance and

prompt actions have played a significant part in his

taking the escalator to success – from owning what

was then an almost defunct textile company to being

the Chairman of Rs 44 billion group, comprising Nicholas Piramal, the

fourth-largest pharmaceutical company in India, Morarajee Weaving

and Spinning and Gujarat Glass.

THE PRELUDE TO AN EXTRAORDINARY ODYSSEY

After acquiring an Honours Degree in Science from Bombay University

and Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the Jamnalal

Bajaj Institute of Management Studies in Mumbai, Mr. Piramal entered

the business world in 1977 at the age of 22 when he started working at
