and pork tenderloin, plus a dessert.
The in- ight entertainment (IFE) system
was impressive with a large variety of
content comprising more than 100 movies,
an extensive library of TV programmes
(many with box sets), 44 music playlists of
various genres and around 25 interactive
games. Headsets were free and, even
though the sector was relatively short,
most of the passengers I could see took
advantage of the entertainment, watching
lms or TV shows. The ight time of 2hrs
20mins gave just enough time to enjoy a
movie, and the interactive games were also
popular.
The ight was very smooth and all too
soon, just south of Paris, we started our
descent into Frankfurt. It was a clear day
and passengers had good views of parts of
France and Germany.
We touched down on Frankfurt’s newest
runway (25R) at 5.39pm – one minute
ahead of the scheduled arrival time. The
Dreamliner pulled onto a stand at Terminal
1 and parked alongside a LATAM-liveried
A350 with a Qatari registration, operating a
scheduled Qatar Airways ight to Doha.
While disembarking I noticed the captain
and rst officer showing a father and young
son around the cockpit, which was a nice
touch and in keeping with the excellent
service provided on the ight. Cleaners
were waiting to board and prepare the 787
for departure back to Madrid at 7.25pm and
then onwards to Chile.
This LATAM Airlines inter-European
service provides a great opportunity for
aviation enthusiasts to y on a Dreamliner
with a South American carrier that offers
excellent service. With fares as low as
£33 for Economy and £146 for Premium
Business Class, it is also a cost-effective
way to get between these two major
European cities.
