254 ■ III: ROLE FUNCTIONS OF DOCTORAL ADVANCED NURSING PRACTICE
The DNP education is a winning strategy for nursing and society! As the U.S. health
care system continues to evolve, DNPs will continue to strengthen their individual
and organizations’ performance to enhance outcomes for patients, population health,
organizations, and society at large. The current health care system lends itself well to
the much needed skills and competencies possessed by DNP- prepared nurses to meet
the ever increasing number of opportunities in health and health care. DNP- prepared
nurses are raising the contributions of nursing in meeting the nation’s goal for health
and health care.
