Smack bang in the middle of Sydney and Brisbane,
Port Macquarie is the best starting point.
CAMPING
There are plenty of options but we found our best
campsites away from the crowds when we used
the You Camp app and camped on private
properties.
WHAT TO TAKE
The best news about the hard tracks on the east
coast of NSW is that you are always close to town.
Whether you need to pop into town to get a spare
part, find some fuel or even want to order a pizza
to have back at camp, you can. But like any tough
track, try to carry all the tools and spares that you
might need. Someone in your group is going to
break something... I bet you already know who in
your group that person will be!
BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
All year round is the go, but my favourite time is
Autum and Spring. If you are after a bit more of a
challenge, wait until there has been some rain up
there.
