Letter of the Month

Firstly, I would like to comment on
issue 154 of PhotoPlus which I have
found most useful. I found Projects 1
and 3, the Photoshop Elements
tutorial, and the Improve Your
Dynamic Range article particularly
handy. Secondly, why doesn’t Canon
improve DPP4 and make it as a
competitor to Photoshop Elements/
Photoshop etc? It’s also a shame
there’s no hard copy manual for
DPP4, so far as I know, as it would
make life easier when trying to learn
the programme. I’m old school and
prefer to have a hard copy alongside,
rather than having to keep switching
screens when trying out techniques!
Pete Stockton, Cardross, Glasgow

Thanks for your positive feedback,
Pete! We agree and wish Canon
would improve DPP significantly. The
interface isn’t very user friendly, but
it can be good for simple Raw edits.

And it’s free! There is a DPP manual in
digital PDF format which you could
print out – go to bit.ly/get_dpp, and
select your Canon camera, click on
the Manuals tab, scroll down for DPP.

Each issue, every letter printed
wins an Experience Seminars
EOS training DVD. More info at
