information
Excellent camera for quick
snaps and composed
shots. Not got the depth or
finesse of the others, but is
refreshingly simple, effective
and much better than its
mid-range competitors

Pixel count
The Honor 6 does have the lowest overall
megapixel count of the four cameras, but
it’s level with the HTC on the back and
comfortably beats the Samsung and Sony on
the front, so it sits nicely in the middle
Ease-of-use
The Honor 6 is very basic and intuitive
- ideal for a relative beginner. The extra
features are laid out nicely so you’ll never
have to go hunting for a particular mode
Added features
Pretty standard in terms of extras. It
comes loaded with panorama and fi lter
modes. We are quite fond of the audio
note mode which enables you to add vocal
messages onto your photographs
Front-facing camera
The Honor 6 has the second-most powerful
in the test. It has the added bonus of a
panoramic mode on its front-facing camera,
so you can take the widest group shot of any
camera on the market
T
he Honor 6 sits with the
mid-range models but still
to mix it with the big boys
when it comes to the camera. A
13MP rear camera and 5MP on
the front is nearly twice what yo
would expect at this price point
The rear-facing camera is quick
focus and takes good quality
photos, even at full zoom. It has
number of extra modes, with co
shot providing a range of photo options and HDR
mode brightening up dark pictures. We liked Audio
Note, which allows you to add sound to a photo.
This Snapchat-like element is a nice touch and is
easy to use. The front-facing camera is a really
good piece of kit, offering 5MP of sharpness, which
is more than enough. The panorama mode is a
superb idea, so if you’re into group shots, this
trumps any wide-angle selfi e mode. We were a
little disappointed, however, in the Beauty Face
feature that didn’t sharpen as intuitively as the
other models. The All-Focus mode is impressive
llowing you to snap a picture and
change the point of focus
rwards. As with the rest of the
mera’s apps, it isn’t diffi cult to use
all. Honor’s manufacturer, Huawei,
aims that you can snap a shot in
6 seconds by tapping the volume
twice, even when the screen is
d. We managed to get 0.7 seconds
picture was still very clear despite
g and a slightly shaky hand. Viewing
the pictures on the 5-in, 1920 x 1080 resolution
screen was an absolute joy, with the vibrant
colours and high pixel count really bringing the
photos to life. Huawei has somehow managed to
pack an awful lot of excellent features into the
Honor 6 for a pretty low price. Both the front and
rear cameras produce good quality images, there
is a decent number of editing options for both
cameras and the quick shot function is superb. It
is a little less sharp than its rivals and several
modes don’t quite stack up, but pound-for-pound,
the Honor 6 is great value for money.
